A STUDIO FOR JULIE MEHRETU

Julie Mehretu is an American contemporary visual artist known for her large scale paintings. She enjoys working alonside with musicians to draw inspiration from each other. Therefore, I designed a space where the painter and musician could work together and it is designed to maximise productivity and creativity using materials suitable for both artist and musician whilst living in harmony with the natural environment. Additionally, this space encourages communal gathering as it had stairs on top of the studio which allows people to socialise without taking up extra space in the area for benches.
