Peckham Play is a games and entertainment centre proposal for the Peckham Platform site, aimed at 18-25s and 60s-70s to promote intergenerational interaction. The overall aim of the project is to create a more integrated Peckham community by addressing the generation gap and encouraging people in the community to bond through playing games. The form is taken from a commonly used device in games; the grid. The building’s change in orientation and interior organisation are based around the existing grid on site while also exploring playfulness and movement through a series pivot and hinged walls. Peckham arch will also be replaced with a viewing bridge that runs into the interior of the building.
