GOD'S HOUSE
by Melody Akanji
gods house is a monastery of free education designed to encourage the exchange of ideas through music and the celebration of collaboration through performance and orchestration. It is a direct response to the idea that the city is subconsciously socially coded. gods house is a dilution of the corporate city and the celebration of creativity as a scared medium in itself. Free movement between boroughs; no obligations; every space is a free space is a creative space. It is about bringing young people into ‘coded’ spaces to create for the culture, and this is achieved by creating a programme, a collective that mimics the rhythm of the week and serves one another and the many. To celebrate and to maintain. Gods house focuses on filtering young people in the neighbouring borough of hackney into the city to become part of the everyday landscape of corporate London.
