Re-Purposing Temporary Architecture - Temporary architecture seems to be appearing and disappearing more and more readily these days. Its use as a means of generating hype and attracting attention is all too familiar. With its often wild and irresponsible use of materials, it seems as disposable as a coffee cup. Perhaps as designers we need to think about this and begin to give structures like these a life beyond the temporary? With that in mind group B started the semester researching architects who design chairs. We then went on to design a travelling exhibition stand to exhibit the original chair, finally, the stand was to be placed on a site in Deptford. The brief for this part of the project was to re-use/re-purpose the stand by responding to the context (in all its meanings) of Deptford.
