Challenging hierarchical status in capitalist societies. The proletariat, in this case, the homeless community are treated well with care, and their needs are met. The bourgeoisie confide in these spaces as their needs must be met too. The design used existing pipe-works to build the skeleton (structure) and the volumes formed within and around these pipes. Within these volumes hold functions that the clients need, the only difference is that they are always aimed to link to water. For the materiality, an earthy grounded feeling was the aim, whilst still feeling the functions and forms of the architecture. The oxidising copper pipes change colour over time which represent the strength and longevity of the community. The unpolished marble is more grounded and less slippery since all functions are adapted with water.
