THE STREET, THE LIFE COLOUR OF CAMPUS.

by Sofija Stupar

This 3rd Year University Project is located in University of Westminster-Harrow Campus, that is situated North-West of London, United Kingdom. This project is developed based on the visions of what a campus of the future could be, in the context of our very own campus at Harrow. This project aims to create a hybrid programme for the student living, including ideas from the local community involvement and outdoor learning. After completing my Stakeholder engagement by doing interviews with a wide range of local students and staff about their needs and aspirations for new accommodation on campus. This analysis shows that students need more social spaces in the campus. Therefore I created a street student living, in which the street is the most social space in the project, it consists of caffe, fruits & vegetables market, learning pavilions outside, a Square with seating and exhibition space where students from Art courses can show their work. All of these street based activity spaces aim to improve outdoor experiences and wellbeing, physical and mental health, as well as expand social interactions and inclusivity.
