A TV STUDIO IN THE PARK

The project proposes a Regional News Centre situated near Alexandra Palace. With the evolution of film and television, online platforms such as YouTube began to replace traditional television broadcast. The project aims to address this transformation and embrace the past history of the site being a home to the BBC television studios. It will combine both media by providing facilities for BBC News while offering TV studios for YouTube creators. The news broadcasting will happen alongside the learning process to offer a collaborative process for students willing to participate in news filming. The project will also express the rich typology and panoramic views that underpin the site by introducing a terraced building with a series of gardens. It will integrate the existing landscape and explore the opportunities of locating a TV studio in the park. At the same time, it will offer potential solutions to make TV studios more sustainable and preserve the site’s biodiversity.
