CORYTON MYCELIUM FACTORY

by Shirin Azizi

The Coryton Mycelium factory is designed to provide a spatial organisation that allows all species to cohabitate in a future Posthuman world. The project is divided into two sections with different timelines. One is a mycelium packaging factory located inside existing empty drums inherited from the previous oil refinery that strives to provide renewable and sustainable packaging material. The second part explores the idea of cohabitation in a design spectrum in which all species share a space together apart from their status. As a result, all species, from mushrooms and humans to robots, share the project equally.
