CREATING THE NARRATIVE

The Chestnuts Creative Arts community centre aims to provide a creative space for the members of the community to come together both culturally and socially through creative activities. The main intentions of the centre is to provide spaces for students and young members of the community to practice and better their skills for design, as well as provide opportunities within the creative arts industry for the community. The centre focuses on restoring the community within South Tottenham by bringing all groups of the community together, regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, religion and ethnicity. It is open to all, made by the community, for the community. The project is entitled ‘Creating the Narrative’, as the aim of the centre is to provide the community with opportunities, in which they benefit through inheriting and utilising the spaces provided. In this way, they are creating and changing their narratives.
