THE SOUNDCAPE

The Soundscape is a community hub that celebrates and cultivates audio culture in Elephant and Castle. The project offers recording studios, a radio station with an auditorium, collaborative space, and a public café. The design is based on the notions of sharing and experiencing sound. The main feature of the building are copper-clad recording pods that are connected by pathways with generous public space which promotes creative collaboration among the users. The entire space is then wrapped in chainmail façade to maintain a light aesthetic and encourage an engagement with the street.
