PERPETUAL STREET: CURATING RETAIL EXPERIENCE TO EXPOSE NEW TECHNOLOGY

by Joshua Spitter

Shenzhen leads in the technological market, where linear streets flood with retail shops trying to expose their products and build upon their businesses. The flow of movement is fixed from one end to another and the experience does not allow for a great deal of interaction or exposure for smaller retailers. How can this idea of the linear street be Architecturalised to create a new sense of exposure and new experiential opportunities?

Within an ever growing Technological Metropolis advancements are being made everyday meaning the market will forever need to expand and the technology markets retail experience needs to adapt in new ways that tackle the distribution of modern consumerism. The proposal sets out to curate the retail experience by internalising the street typology within an architectural loop form and enhance the exposure of the businesses with more interaction, workshops, event spaces and engage consumers within the technology retail experience.
