INFINITY MIRRORS DISPLAY FOR AN AKARI LAMPSHAPES DESIGNER

by Laura Panaete

The main idea for this project was to make the Akari lamps to stand out, therefore I designed a lamp maker's studio and residence with a mirror display. Inspired by the ''Infinity Mirror Room'' and the Taraxacum 88 by Achille Castiglioni the visitors will have a surreal experience with the lamps when entering the mirror rooms while on the outside the mirror platforms will make the guests feel like they are floating in two different worlds, creating the illusion of a wider space. Beside of this, these platforms are also movable, so every day is a different display that works like a theatre in daytime but also in nighttime because of the two way mirror panel from outside the building. On the first floor is the studio for the Ozeki & CO. workers with another platform for the designer at 2.4m height and a second floor for the residential area
