THE DATA THAT ROCKED - KINETIC ARCHITECTURE FOR A MUSIC FESTIVAL.

by Jacek Nowak

In a divided world, music is one thing that brings people together. The Data That Rocks is an attempt to enhance the inclusive power of music through architecture that changes, adapts to the needs of its users. Consequently, true serendipity can occur as a result of architecturally-induced events that bring people together.

The building works as a dynamic object, changing its function and character based on the event. During a music festival, the mobile panels open, creating a bold background and directing the sound, while during off-season they are closed, transforming the building into a hill perfect for picnics. The object itself can be used as a cultural centre with gastronomy and toilets, as well as the backstage for numerous events taking place on the premises of the park.

The whole project allows for creation of a unique experience, bringing together people from different backgrounds and iducing chance encounters.
