INTERFUSION OF TYPOLOGIES

by Monika Bochynska

The co-working, co-living/hotel scheme extends the possibilities of the Qianhai Bay, by offering a community oriented meeting point. It is a destination for business travellers, as well as, young, ambitious people, that want to live in a community oriented environment in the city centre. The scheme invites big companies, start-ups and freelancers to engage with each other, while using scattered around the building communal amenity spaces.
As a fusion of functions, the form highlights the moment of connection and exaggerates them. The use of colour and pattern highlights architectural treatments. The main entrance to the co-working spaces draws people in and allows them to engage with the structure, while the shape of the tower creates opportunities for different views and perspectives, enhancing people’s curiosity. Taking the ramp through the co-working space is an anticipate what is coming and what can be found after the next bend.
