A MOMENT OUT OF THE CITY

by Solihah Sohail

A new primary school in central London, designed for our new generation of future eco-warriors which has been designed to contrast against the urban settings of the city of London. Students are usually placed in an environment of rectilinear spaces that have restrictive qualities, which is why the new Lambeth Primary School has been designed with elliptical classrooms held by timber columns. Timber used as the main structural material to maintain a sustainable ambition and a statement for the future. The environment and spirituality is held at great importance through the architecture as the building exemplifies a school working as a third teacher for the students.
