THE INTERCEPTOR

Through conducting an in-depth research of the site and its surroundings, it became obvious that waste made up a large portion of the site, and as a result of this waste, the River Thames has become severally polluted. Upon this discovery, I have been deliberating on ways to transform the area, with my primary finding being that change can only arise when individuals realise the importance of recycling. Therefore, I propose transforming the Unity House Unit into a workshop studio and gallery. This will provide designers and artists with an opportunity to transform waste soured from the river into items that are designed, exhibited and sold on the site. Through doing so, I hope to exhibit to the visitors not to perceive items as waste, but instead to show them how they can be transformed into various possibilities.
