Graphic Novel project following the narrative of a protagonist character from a Gaudi-esque parallel planet landing on Earth. The project explores the idea of displaced people with a focus on the UK’s migrant crisis and the rise of right-wing ideas and nationalism within the surrounding social and political environment. The project considers former Olympic sites and the concept of them becoming a permanent home & safe haven for the displaced, rather than the often derelict spaces they currently are. The project aims to expand on the existing slide programme of Stratford’s controversial ArcelorMittal Orbit by merging architectural languages and turning the entire Olympic site into an adventure park that masquerades as refugee housing. Infrastructure towers become miniature vertical villages for migrant communities, providing safe and comfortable modular housing as well as jobs within the adventure park - a protest against the often insufficient accommodation for migrants & asylum seekers currently provided by the UK government.
