This years project consists of one residential tower and a public building, the College Of Bioluminescence. Both are designed for the same client, the International Institute of Cosmism and are located on the site, at Ludgate Hill in London. The residential tower focusses on the natural light source from the sun and its colour spectrum. The intention is to create an inspiring atmosphere for the artist Goethe. The colour spectrum of the sun was utilised to create an inspiring atmosphere. The forms of a Wren church tower were used as the basis for the project. The key feature of the design is the upside-down hanging spire as the Crystal-prism. In addition, mirror tubes were installed in the corners of the tower to project rainbow colours throughout the building. The College Of Bioluminescence is a round building inspired by the jellyfish. Throughout the building, bioluminescence reflects the purpose of the building to develop the use of it in technical applications. The users can experience the power of bioluminescence. Key spaces of the building are designed for communication, exchange of knowledge, studying, exhibiting and research of new technologies. Spaces for recreation and for presentation to big audiences are major highlights.
