The second body in this project is a creature without boundaries, drawn by a desire to link to particular moments in the site via its movements .  Site studies focusing on the bodies movement through the site gave rise to the design of a kinetic bridge, an experimental structure created from woven rebar. The building project expands the ideas and details of the bridge design. It is comprised of a bridge walkways connecting 3 different zones of the site and three small concrete volumes. The explorations of the second body's engagement with Hackney Wick also provided the impetus of a critical approach to the gentrification of the neighbourhood. The programme is part of making the building an alternative to Fish Island's current default commercial development; it includes an artists' studio building, a community hall, and a museum (as a part of an existing building on the site). The bridge is constructed primarily from rebar, cantilevering from the rebar supports projecting from the concrete slabs of the building volumes.  The rebar walkways are tuned for varying degrees of shakiness and wobbliness; this makes them distinctive, playfully destabilizing structures. The proposal is meant to be a place where people from the local communities can walk, meet, encounter and engage, and sometimes gather to collectively shake and rattle the building, letting the people of Fish Island make some noise.
