Semester1- Zero Waste Distillery responds to the issue of waste produce from North End Road’s fresh produce market in Parsons Green. This project is an innovative distillery-bar for the locals allowing them to experience how waste produce can be given a new life and transformed into alcohol. Each visitor engages in the journey with all five senses, up the building to the pinnacle, the bar, where they can indulge in the bespoke cocktails. The distillery aims to unite the very unalike North End Road and Fulham Road as an example of a successful circular economy project to the surrounding businesses. Semester 2- SWAP, FIX, RECYCLE is a small appliance recycling centre based in Parsons Green. It aims to encourage locals to bring in their old, unwanted or broken kitchen appliances for them to be either swapped with others, fixed or recycled into jewellery, glass decorations and plastic tiles, which can be bought on site. The micro factory offers employment for local, unemployed residents through a training program and also acts as a community hub and place of leisure offering public space for gathering. Flexibility is the driving factor of this centre. Each ‘plug-in’ block is removable making this innovative recycling centre adaptable and catering for many generations.
