In the 21st century, The City of London remains traditional and yet forward-thinking in its appearance. Creating the iconic skyline of the city with some of the tallest office buildings in Europe, why is it excluded from the rest of London? Gardens In The Sky proposes to re-use parts of The Scalpel (52 Lime Street) as gardens that are open are for office workers during the workweek and open to the public in the evening and weekends. Most of the City’s buildings are locked off from the public, making them exclusive and expensive to access. This proposal aims to create spaces for office workers to escape to and attract people who wouldn't normally enter the city for non-business purposes.
