The Garden City of Kensington and Chelsea is a speculative future scenario to rethink and critique the richest boroughs of London. There is a rise in the number of collapsed buildings in these boroughs as it becomes populated with more of these Iceberg homes that builds downwards. The ground cannot take it anymore and the homes have started to collapse. The gated community begins to crumble as the private enclosures are removed. The intervention begins to take form with a connection to the street. The connection grows as nature starts taking form within the intervention and the communities starts re-inhabiting the previously empty spaces. The proposal re-inhabits the abandoned homes and offer a space of production for the excluded. The project critiques the Garden City as an exclusive space and offers and garden accessible to all.
