SHADOW PUPPET THEATRE

Taking the concept of free playground and shadow puppetry, the project aims to design a space for children with social anxiety disorder to build their stage and props, then perform behind the fabric as shadow puppets. This will give children a chance to perform without directly facing the audience, which will build up their confidence and social ability. To respond to the site context of Old Spitalfields Market, the design used arches as the overall design language. Combined with the use of fabric and wood, the new design will bring a comfortable and playful experience for the children and other visitors.
