The concept of Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SuDS) rethinks traditional perception of surface water of it being a nuisance but instead a valuable resource that should be harnessed for maximum benefit. The consequences of conventional piped drainage are becoming quite clear in the context of climate change and rapid urbanisation and SuDS offer a more holistic and sustainable approach to managing rainfall and better cope with global shocks. This project seeks to deliver urban resilience in the Lower Lee Valley regeneration area through the implementation of SuDS.
