"DIY" PARK

The project aims to transform the old canal into a new park. Due to the lack of space in the area, the park will be located within the old riverbed while elevating the whole site. The tidal river will be located underneath the non-tidal river. The tidal river tunnel will also serve as an overflow discharge tunnel. The projects consist of 4 modules which will be alternated along the river in no particular order but depending on the suitability. The project is also trying to address issues such as gentrification, pandemic and global warming. It is aimed at the local community which lives in the area and is being displaced, it provides them with a chance to co-design and co-build the sites within the park. This will lead to a better sense of belonging and ownership. Furthermore, this approach allows for the community to fulfil its needs by designing and building things that they have need of.
