In response to the government’s plans to invest into new school buildings, the proposal acts as a demonstration project for a different kind of learning environment that challenges traditional educational values. Located near parliament, it is significant and visible for commuters and politicians alike. The concept of the school takes inspiration from children’s literature. The book 'Wangari's Trees of Peace' identifies the forest as an exciting environment and values the biodiversity it holds. The learning environment or classroom is informed by the innovations pioneered in Reggio Emilia in the 1980s. The environment is viewed as a place that embraces nature, with an open-plan layout that promotes relationships, communication, collaboration, and exploration through play. The school offers growing spaces and cooking classes in collaboration with Archbishop's park, the Oasis City Farm and the wider community.
