REFLECTION: IS THIS WHAT YOU SEE?

Situated inside the disused Aldwych underground station and inspired by the nearby Sommerset House often used for events, including fashion shows, the proposal offers an insight into one’s perception of his/her physical appearance – the body image. By using curved mirrors and mirrored surfaces, visitors are encouraged to think about how they view their bodies, as what one sees in the mirror might not always be reliable. By staging a play with distorted surfaces, the space acts as a commentary to the non-inclusive body types promoted by the fashion industry.
