What is a mosque and what is it used for? Wishing to open up the place of worship and its daily activities to the wider society, this proposal aims to bring people from different backgrounds, religions and ethnicities under one roof. The proposal enables visitors to experience a mosque first-hand, eliminate previous prejudice and learn new life skills. Situated in East London, the Suleymaniye Mosque- known to be one of the oldest mosques in the area, transforms into a building which welcomes visitors to engage in non-religious activities with the local community.
