Inspired by origami - the art of folded paper, The Congregation Hall is a versatile performance venue that enables the performance space to be interchangeable with the audience space by using a modular stage/seating design. This versatility enables the venue to host bands, circus, comedy and dance, plus a range of classes in the performing arts. Piezo-electric floor tiles on the ground floor converts the movement of people into clean energy that powers the venue. The concept of folded paper is replicated on the acoustic wall surface, stairs and bannisters, with coloured light reflecting off the faceted glass surfaces.
