The Sipsonsworth Village of Heathgrowers is a new community, located between the existing towns of Sipson and Harmondsworth, on the boundary line of the proposed 3rd runway site at Heathrow Airport, London. The project proposes a mixture of single, family and co-living houses set out in a flexibe Barn typology, based on the 15th Century Harmondsworth Great Barn, the oldest of its kind still standing in the UK. The aim of this scheme is to promote the growth of the village population as well as the agricultural and industrial output over the next 30 years. Included within the proposed housing typologies is a flexible working space in the form of offices, workshops, markets, etc. accessable via the back of house, providing the resident with a more flexible live/work situation as well as promoting a more considered communal environment.
