My project is a paradise for the Traveller community, a place of safety and celebration within Robin Hood Gardens. A pleasure garden which will host London’s version of the Appleby Fair, a yearly event where travellers from across the nation will gather at the site. Scattered throughout the landscape are stables, temporary accommodation, and a bathing pool for horses. Fluidity within constraints is a community theatre located in Whitechapel which will provide accommodation and performance space for my clients, two groups who express humanitarian issues through dance and movement; Art is in Motion and the Young Associates The theatre is flexible and can be transformed in accordance with the vision of a director or as the performance style demands. The sinuous walls of the proposal are inspired by the movement of the dancers and the liner walls that bisect them the constraints imposed by society.
