LAMBETH'S URBAN VILLAGE

by Jaziba Tahir

The school is conceived as an urban village, laid out beneath a dynamic overarching roof. This is a child-scaled network of interconnected spaces acting as an urban microcosm and reflecting Jane Jacobs observations on the diversity of urban life. The mat of pavilions and pathways extends to connect the school with the wider neighbourhood, from the vitality of the school gate community to gardening spaces and the adjacent urban farm beyond.
